Anesthesiologists and their Equipment The department of anesthesia and critical care offers anesthetic care for patients undergoing surgical and other procedures. Board-certified/board-eligible anesthesiologists provide preoperative assessment, anesthesia care during procedures and medical management in the postoperative care unit. Anesthesiologists also care for patients requiring postoperative or respiratory intensive care, postoperative acute pain management, and comprehensive evaluation and therapy for all types of acute and chronic pain.
